Walks Festival Update

Boroughbridge is proud to be part of the national Walkers are Welcome Towns network, the community led initiative of attractive destinations where all visitors are assured of a warm welcome.

And the selection of guided scenic walks around the area is again being put together by the Boroughbridge Walkers are Welcome group. Group spokesman Barry McCallum said: “Walking is still among the most popular and healthy pastimes and this year’s programme will again appeal to everybody regardless of age or ability,”

The festival will run from April 3-6 and will consist of 9 very different walks to choose from. “The walks are all circular and will leave from various venues around the area. Each one is free and no booking is required,” added Mr McCallum

Among the walks to choose from will be a walk to raise funds for Jennyruth Workshops, a treasure hunt walk for children with prizes to be won, and a nature reserve walk with an expert guide.

As last year, the festival will also include evening events and entertainment including a film night and for the first time a two day Beer Festival!

More details on this and the full range of walks will be found in the festival programme, which will be published shortly. Visit www.boroughbridgewalks.org.uk for the latest updates on the festival.
